how to have more faith

at a time when i was feeling weary and weak in faith, my pastor encouraged us with this truth:
little time in God's Word means little faith. more time in God's Word means more faith.

it's a cause and effect, an "if, then."
the more time i spend with God, learning about Him and His promises, the stronger my faith grows.
distractions, busyness, and passively going about my day does absolutely nothing for my faith, and gives a way for the enemy.

for big faith, i know i need to open my bible, read it, study it, know it, pray, and do these things constantly! that's the way to produce big faith. that's the way to develop a personal relationship with my Savior. it's worth it to me to make the time to spend with God in His Word. i want the "Well done, good and faithful servant!"

"when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8)

without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

"Anyone who trusts in God will never be disgraced...
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him?
And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him?
And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?
Faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. (Romans 10:13-17)

little time in God's Word means little faith. more time in God's Word means more faith.
