soft brown sugar & fresh baked goods

you might already know this but it's news to me...putting a marshmallow in your bag of brown sugar will keep it soft.

yes! it works! i've been putting a slice of bread in my bag of brown sugar, and that works, too. however, sometimes the bread crumbles and gets mixed up in the brown sugar. a marshmallow doesn't crumble! it absorbs the moisture, keeping your brown sugar fresh and soft.

it works for keeping baked goods fresh, too!

i put one big puffy marshmallow in with my Nutella banana bread (ohmygoodnesssogood) (recipe here), closed the container, and put it in the fridge. it has been in there for 3 days and is still as soft and delicious as the day i baked it! i sample it every day just to make sure. it's a tough job but someone has to do it.

i love having an excuse to keep big puffy marshmallows in the house!
