surprised by motherhood

i just finished reading this book, Surprised by Motherhood by Lisa-Jo Baker. i pre-ordered my copy months ago on Amazon, scheduled to ship later this month. i heard last week that it was in some bookstores already, and it just so happened i finished the last book i was reading and i needed a new book to read! i went to the bookstore and bought the last copy of Surprised by Motherhood on the shelf, with plans to gift my copy coming from Amazon. and after reading it, i know i'm going to need to buy a few more copies. i feel like this book, even though it is a memoir, needs to be in the hands of moms everywhere. this is not your typical book on motherhood. it's Lisa-Jo's story, but her message and her hope and her anthem is for all of us.

Motherhood is a sacred marriage of the mundane and the eternal.
-Lisa-Jo Baker, Surprised by Motherhood

Lisa-Jo's personal story of being surprised by motherhood is empowering and inspiring. it left me feeling confident in my role as my kids' mom, with the urge to high-five other moms, surprised by how my own story is unfolding, and thankful to my God who isn't surprised at all.

Surprised by Motherhood by Lisa-Jo Baker is available today on Amazon.com in paperback, kindle, and audio versions. from the bottom of my heart, i highly recommend this book...no matter what season of motherhood you're living now.

[can i please encourage you to shop via smile.amazon.com? i shop for Mercy House Kenya, listed as "The Mercy Maternity House, Inc." thanks!]
