5 things (blogging like it's 2006)

maybe it was the Toadies song i heard on the "classic rock" Sirius channel, or the vintage hand-me-down Christmas ornaments we brought in from the attic, whatever it was, i was feeling nostalgic the other day. i followed memory lane and all it's rabbit trails and ended up searching "old school blogging" on google. literally. remember what blogging was like in 2006? there were a lot of lists and memes and link-ups and random fun posts. are those kinds of blogs still around? i need more of them in my feed. my blogging flashback made me happy. i recommend throwback blogging every once in a while. :) just for fun!

// 10 years ago i was...
about to celebrate our first Christmas as a family and in our first house. our daughter was an only child, 11 months old, and the center of our universe. i remember having so much fun decorating the house for the season. i hung cheap little garland wreaths in our windows and our matching monogrammed stockings from the mantle. i think that was the last year we had a real Christmas tree.

-"your talent is God's gift to you. what you do with it is your gift back to God." -leo buscaglia
-"no we're never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy." -seal
-"smiling's my favorite!" -buddy the elf
