breath prayers are silent petitions, like little whispers from your heart to God's. they are called "breath prayers" for the way the praying becomes like breathing: calming, repetitive, natural...instinctual. and also for the way they're prayed: inhaling and exhaling, breathing in God's grace and breathing out His praise.
sometimes, finding the words to pray doesn't come easily. when i don't know what to say, but i know i need God, a breath prayer is sometimes the best i can do. i let my prayer connect with my breathing, my direct-line to the Holy Spirit.
For the Spirit of God has made me,
and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
