sweet party ideas {top ten tuesday}

someone sweet has a birthday coming up :) i've been planning it for quite some time now, and as the big day gets closer i am itching with excitement. she is turning 6. and because immediately after her 5th birthday party she informed us that she would like to have a surprise party, this year she's getting a surprise party. the theme? Sweet 6th Surprise! cute, right?
we are still a few weeks away, but i compiled an idea board (secretly) to help me put together the perfect little party for her. here are some of the ideas...i'd love to know what you think!

1. candy bar of course! my little sweetie doesn't have a big sweet tooth, but she does like bubble gum and hard candies. decorative and useable! nothing will go to waste (see #5) she will love this.

2. balloons upside down i love this idea! helium balloons can get expensive! this has the same effect but even more unique! i'm thinking a dozen or two, in the same colors as the invitation.

3. fruity punch and custom water bottles i make a yummy fruit punch that is also very bright and pretty. it's Sprite, frozen strawberries, and strawberry sorbet ice cream. and the custom water bottles? a sweet personalized touch.

4. custom shirt for the birthday girl i found this precious shop on etsy, Mimi's Babies, to make BigGirl's custom birthday shirt to match the party theme. i am so super excited about it!

5. take-home candy favors instead of having to put together little baggies of trinkets, the children will get to take home loads and loads of candy from the candy bar! oh, and toothbrushes, too! the only thing is....see #6

6. candy favor containers? i can't decide. please help! little squaty Mason jars? clear cellophane bags with custom tags? paper take-out style boxes? please help!

7. cookie decorating activity the venue where her party will be held typically offers cupcake decorating, but since the birthday girl doesn't like cupcakes they offered cookies instead. so cute and perfect for the theme, right? another something each child can take home, if they don't eat it first :)

8. the invitation i made it. i love it.

9. custom birthday banner i plan on making one of these to match the invitation colors. just precious.

10. personalized place settings an extra sweet little touch to make the guests feel special! a fairly simple  DIY project, too.

what do you think of these SWEET PARTY IDEAS? (all of the above photos were found via Google search "candy themed party" except for the invitation, which is mine.) i am really looking forward to putting it all together for BigGirl and her friends. and then i'll show you my pictures! promise.
